FL Studio made you close the laptop?

Traditional DAWs like FL Studio, Ableton, and Logic are incredible tools - for people who already know what they're doing. If you've ever opened one and stared at an empty timeline wondering where to even click, you know the feeling.

DAWG skips all that. You open it, you see instruments already loaded on a grid. Tap a cell, hear a sound. Tap more, hear a pattern. Hit play and it loops. You're making music before you've read a single manual page.

The grid is your instrument

Time goes left to right. Pitch (or drum sounds) goes top to bottom. Each cell is a note - tap it on, tap it off. The pattern plays on a loop, so you hear every change instantly.

For drums, each row is a different hit - kick, snare, hat, perc. For melodic instruments, each row is a pitch. DAWG locks everything to a scale, so whatever you tap sounds good. No wrong notes.

Scales = cheat codes

9 scales built in: Major, Minor, Pentatonic Major, Pentatonic Minor, Blues, Dorian, Mixolydian, Harmonic Minor, Chromatic. Pick one and the grid hides all the notes that would clash. Everything you touch just works.

Starting out? Go with Pentatonic Minor. It sounds good in basically every genre and it's almost impossible to make it sound bad.

Your first beat in 8 taps

  1. Open DAWG - Drums is already selected.
  2. Tap the grid - kicks on 1 and 3, snares on 2 and 4, hats everywhere.
  3. Press play - it loops.
  4. Switch to Bass - tap some low notes.
  5. Stack more instruments - Synth, Groove, Guitar, whatever.
  6. Twist the knobs - filter, reverb, drive.
  7. Mix it - balance the faders.
  8. Export - WAV file, done.

That's it. No setup wizard, no plugin downloads, no account creation.
